When it comes to sending SMS marketing campaigns, there isn’t a perfect time that will guarantee the success of your campaign. An average person checks their mobile phone 150 times a day! When those check-ins occur is completely governed by their behaviors and preferences.

But there a few best practices that you can follow:

  • The most helpful tip is to determine when you’re most interested in your customers taking action on your text. If your text message has information valuable for the start of the day, aim to send a text between 8 am and 12 pm.
  • If you think customers will have a better chance of taking action on your message when they’re winding down from their day, try to send your message between 5 pm and 9 pm.
  • Avoid scheduling your SMS messages too early in the morning or too late at night. After all, you are communicating quickly and directly with customers and you want to respect their personal time.
  • Most customers are lethargic and more sleep-deprived at the beginning of the week, so Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays tend to be the most popular days for SMS and email campaigns.
  • Avoid sending SMS messages during rush hour and the times your customers are commuting to work.
